Lida Pearl Taylor

Lida Pearl Lisenby Taylor, 85, of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Tamaroa, passed away at 11:55A.M., Saturday, May 24, 2003 at her residence.
She was retired in 1968 as an English and Latin teacher at the Du Quoin High School.  She was a member of the First Christian Church at Du Quoin, an SIU graduate and she was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of Perry County and Jefferson County.
She was born on March 14, 1918 at Tamaroa, Illinois, the daughter of Waldo Ray and Emma Pearl (Eaton) Lisenby.
She married Logan Taylor February 24, 1943 at Ste. Genevieve, MO.  He passed away July 12, 1998.
She is survived by a daughter-Cindy Rice and husband Steve of Mt. Vernon, 2 grandsons-Jason Rice of Park City, Utah, and Bryan Rice of Fort Collins, Colorado, one sister-Rowena Stone of Denver, CO, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister-Ceola Lee.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Ken Dean officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 PM Monday, at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Tamaroa Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Lida Taylor Memorial fund for future educators scholarships.
